OHS Honor Band Program
Over the past 25 years, the Oakville Marching Band has been honored with more than three hundred individual awards. The band has consistently placed at local competitions and as a finalist at Bands of America Regional and Super Regional events on multiple occasions. In June of 2019, the band travelled to Normandy, France to participate in events marking the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
Wind Symphony has performed at numerous conventions and festivals, including the Western Illinois Showcase of Bands, Bands of America National Concert Band Festival, and nine times at the National Concert Band Festival. The band has made 6 apperances at the Missouri Music Educators Association State Music Conference. In the 2016-17 school year they performed Music For All Metro East Regional Concert Band Festival and will be traveled to Washington D.C. to perform in The President's Cup National Concert Band Festival with The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own." In the 2017-18 school year, the band traveled to New Orleans and participated in the Heritage Music Festival.
Recent guest clinicians include: Col. Carl Chevallard (USAF), First Lieutenant Nolan (USAF), Col. Bryan Shelburne (Conductor Emeritus "Pershing's Own" USAB) Dr. Joseph Missal, Dr. Thomas Caneva, Paula Crider, Richard Saucedo, Robert W. Smith, Dan Peterson and Gary Gackstatter.
The Oakville Symphonic Band has been recognized for their depth and quality of sound. They consistently receive high remarks at MSHAA State Band Contests and "Gold" Ratings at Heritage Music Festivals and "Superior" Dixie Classic National Adjudicators Invitational.
